James believes that the most meaningful financial plans begin with understanding what matters most to the people they serve. Money is deeply personal, shaped by our experiences, values, and aspirations. By taking the time to understand each client's relationship with money, James helps transform financial complexity into clarity and financial decisions into greater confidence about the future.

As a Senior Financial Planner at Elwood & Goetz, James works closely with business owners, physicians, real estate professionals, and retirees to navigate important financial decisions and pursue goals that may once have seemed out of reach. His approach is thoughtful, personal, and grounded in the belief that financial planning should give people not only a stronger financial future, but also a greater sense of control and peace of mind along the way.

A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, James earned his degree in financial planning from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!). Before joining Elwood & Goetz, he began his career as a Financial Advisor with Endurance Planning Group in Marietta, Georgia.

What James finds most rewarding is walking alongside clients through both the exhilarating and challenging seasons of life. He chose Elwood & Goetz because its holistic approach allows him to build genuine, lifelong relationships with clients while delivering the depth of planning and personal attention those relationships deserve.

A native of Athens, Georgia, James is the youngest of six siblings. He credits his brothers and sisters with teaching him some of life’s most enduring lessons—lessons that continue to shape the way he approaches his work and relationships.

Outside the office, James loves to travel and explore the world with his family and friends. His adventures have taken him to Brazil, Colombia, Norway, and France, with South America and Southeast Asia next on his list. He is also a dedicated runner and is currently training for a marathon on Kiawah Island later this year.
