Emily Stephenson

Senior Financial Planner & Compliance Specialist

Emily Stephenson

Since joining Elwood & Goetz in 2020, Emily has continually advanced through a series of impactful roles, culminating in her current position as a Senior Financial Planner and Compliance Specialist. In this dual capacity, she plays a vital role in both shaping the client experience and safeguarding the integrity of the firm’s operations. Emily leads client relationships with thoughtfulness and precision, partnering closely with individuals and families to develop personalized, forward-thinking financial plans. She also collaborates with planning teams to implement sophisticated investment strategies and oversees the firm’s internal compliance program—ensuring every plan and process upholds the highest standards of fiduciary care.

Emily brings both technical expertise and genuine empathy to her work. She is deeply committed to helping clients find clarity, confidence, and peace of mind in their financial lives, and she considers it an extraordinary privilege to serve as a trusted advisor on their lifelong journey.

A summa cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia’s nationally ranked financial planning program, Emily distinguished herself early on as a leader and advocate for accessible financial guidance. She held an executive leadership role within the university’s Financial Planning Association chapter, served as a financial counselor at UGA’s ASPIRE Clinic providing pro bono services, and supported low-income families as a tax preparer through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Emily finds joy in spending time with her family, getting lost in a good book, and exploring the outdoors.
