Description & Responsibilities

At Elwood & Goetz, we work together in teams to serve our clients. Our planning teams typically consist of a managing director, a senior financial planner, and an associate financial planner. Teams work directly with households to design, deliver, and implement comprehensive financial plans

As a financial planning intern, you will assist the planning and operations teams with various tasks as assigned. From office operations to paperwork preparation, you will receive hands-on training and insights into day-to-day practice management, client service, and team collaboration.

Specifically, this position will be responsible for:

Position Description 

  • Greet and accommodate guests: in-person, on the phone, via email,
  • Assist with office operations to ensure everything runs smoothly,
  • Assist with the preparation of account paperwork,
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned,

Intern Experience 

  • Train in the same training program as Client Service Associates and Associate Financial Planners,
  • Gain experience completing various Client Service Associate and Associate Financial Planner duties,
  • Acquire insights and perspectives into day-to-day practice management, client service, and team collaboration,
  • Develop your professional acumen with a broad range of experiences,

Work Expectations

  • Part-time - Work schedule is flexible to accommodate classes, with a minimum weekly commitment of 15 hours and a maximum of 35 hours per week, if scheduling is compatible.

Internship

This is an on-site internship opportunity and will require commuting to our Athens office. Our office is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.

The Elwood & Goetz financial planning internship is a paid internship opportunity.

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program and actively pursuing a degree in financial planning
